Houston Healthcare Redesignated as Level II Emergency Cardiac Care Center

WARNER ROBINS, GA, June 4, 2024 – Houston Healthcare – Warner Robins is proud to announce that it has been redesignated as a Level II Emergency Cardiac Care Center by the Georgia Department of Public Health, Office of EMS and Trauma. This prestigious redesignation is valid for a period of three (3) years, ending on December 31, 2027.

The Level II designation for Emergency Cardiac Care Centers helps prioritize a hospital’s capacity to provide interventional cardiac catheterizations. Hospitals undergo a rigorous evaluation process and site inspection to earn recognition.

“This redesignation should assure our community members that they will receive the highest standard of evidence-based care and treatment should they come to Houston Healthcare with cardiac arrest or heart attack,” says Anna Boyd, BSN, RN, director of cardiovascular services, Houston Heart Institute.

The Georgia Department of Public Health commended the team at Houston Healthcare for their continued commitment to excellence in emergency cardiac care. The Department emphasized the importance of adopting a “systems approach” to improve emergency cardiac care throughout Georgia and highlighted the integral role that Houston Healthcare plays in this growing statewide emergency cardiac care system.

In a statement, the Department praised Houston Healthcare – Warner Robins for its outstanding achievement and acknowledged the significant contributions the facility makes to the health and well-being of Georgians and visitors to the state.

"We are honored to receive this redesignation and are committed to continuing our efforts to provide top-tier emergency cardiac care to our community," said Charles Briscoe, president & CEO at Houston Healthcare. "This recognition reflects the hard work and collaboration of our Houston Heart Institute, Emergency Department, and Emergency Medical Services teams. We will continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of patient care."
