Warner Robins is known to many as "the best place in Georgia to raise a family," as it earned that name from BusinessWeek in 2009 and 2010, but here in the Robins Region, we have always seen our supreme quality of life as a standard and a goal.

The Robins Region is a collection of communities with Robins Air Force Base as its centerpiece. While here, you will become accustomed to the locals saying "Every Day in Middle Georgia is Armed Forces Appreciation Day" ("EDIMGIAFAD"), a symbol of the area's national pride, as it houses the largest Air Force Base in the South as well as Georgia's largest single industry lying right in the heart of the Robins Region. WIth commercial expansion and population on the rise, entrepreneurs in the region have more opportunities than ever before.

This region's mild climate and warm temperatures allow residents to enjoy the outdoors year-round. By May, springtime temperatures can approach the 80s and they continue to rise to an average of 91 degrees by the hot summer months. Winter highs can reach 60 degrees, while lows average in the mid-to-upper 30s. Though the area is not too familiar with snow, it occasionally falls, but rarely ever more than an inch.

Entertainment & Arts

Concerts, musicals, fine art and extraordinary dance can all be found in the Robins Region. Here in "The International City," an appreciation for the arts is learned at a young age. The fine arts programs in Houston County schools continue to host plays that exhibit the talents of their students. Many students graduate with promising futures in art that they have developed through local shows.

If you aren't already a skilled artist, the Department of Recreation holds classes in ceramics, art, dance, and other activities. Or perhaps your're just a spectator. In that case, the 1,400-seat Homer J. Walker Civic Center hosts a variety of concerts and events year-round. Including the ever-popular Warner Robins Little Theatre. There are many local galleries where you can quench your thirst for visual art, too. For those intererested in the history of aviation and flight, make sure to the visit the Museum of Aviation. Adjacent to Robins Air Force Base on Highway 247, the Museum of Aviation is one of the largest education-focused aviation museums in the country with over 90 historic aircraft in its collection.  As if the the cultural richness of the Robins Region isn't enough, Waner Robins and Houston County are only about 10 miles from refined attractions in Macon: the Museum of Arts & Sciences, the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Hay House, the Ocumulgee Indian Mounds, The Grand Opera House, and much more. 

Each October, excitement fills the air as the annual Georgia National Fair rolls into town at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter in Perry. Located directly off of Interstate 75, this event is sure to be something that the whole family will enjoy. Designated a "Top 50 Fair" by Amusement Business Magazine, the Georgia National Fair appeals to everyone with its livestock and horse shows, competitive exhibits, food, midway rides and games, commercial vendors, major concerts, street entertainers, family entertainment, circus, and nightly fireworks.


In Houston County, we want our youth to be qualified future leaders and our education systems do all that they can to ensure that children in the Robins Region get the attention they deserve. From kindergarten to graduate school, institutions throughout Houston County have earned state and national attention for their efforts to education young and old alike. The Robins Region offers prestigious private schools and those that have religious concentrations, too. When our generation of grade-schoolers reachers college age, we have a number of reputable higher education institutions right in our back yard. Central Georgia Technical College, Middle Georgia State College, Georgia Military College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and For Valley State University - even more within a 50-mile radius!

Houston County boasts a higher percentage of people with high school diplomas or higher at 86.3 percent. Almost a quarter of Houston's population holds a bachelor's or graduate degree, proving that people are encouraged by the academic prestige of our community.
