Houston Healthcare Recognizes Employees As G.R.E.A.T. Ambassadors
Houston Healthcare recognized 40 employees during a special luncheon held Thursday, April 13th as part of the G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador Recognition Program. The statewide program is sponsored by the Georgia Hospital Association to celebrate the pride that healthcare employees have in their work and the contributions that they make to their patients, their hospitals, their community and their profession.
Laurie Darsey, RN, HMC Emergency Department, and Patricia Dent, RNC, Perry Hospital Outpatient Surgery, were selected as Houston Healthcare’s G.R.E.A.T. Award winners. The awards were presented by Denise Flook of the Georgia Hospital Association and Frank Aaron, CEO of Houston Healthcare.
Each of the 40 employees honored was nominated by fellow employees for their dedication to the healthcare field. Each nominee submitted an entry to the program describing the reason why they chose to go into the healthcare field and how they have contributed to their patients, their hospital, their community and their profession. A panel of judges represented by Dr. Ivan Allen, president of Middle Georgia Technical College; Dr. Rebecca Corvey, Chair of the Nursing Division at Macon State College; and Perry Mayor Jim Worrall selected a G.R.E.A.T. representative from Perry Hospital and Houston Medical Center.
“Work in healthcare in a hospital setting often holds deep and personal meaning with personal and compelling reasons why people have chosen the field of healthcare,” said Aaron. “The G.R.E.A.T. program, which stands for Giving Recognition for Excellence, Advocacy and Teamwork, is a great opportunity to recognize dedicated healthcare employees and share their inspiring stories to the community.”
