New Video Interpretation Service Now Available for Hearing Impaired
Houston Healthcare Launches New Video Interpretation Service for Hearing Impaired
Houston Healthcare recently launched a new on-demand video language interpretation and relay service for the hearing impaired. Remote video interpreting and relay is handled through world-class interpreters, state-of-the-art videophone technology, and high-speed wireless internet connectivity.
“In the past, we relied on several independent interpreters that we could call on when we needed their services. However, their assistance was dependent upon availability and how long it would take them to get to the hospital if they were available,” explains Laura Gentry, Director of Nursing for Houston Medical Center. “The new system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
The new interpretation service is available at Houston Medical Center and Perry Hospital, as well as all three Houston Healthcare Med-Stop locations and other outpatient facilities.
