Howard Sohnen, MD, FACOG

Chief Medical Officer

Howard Sohnen, MD, FACOG, joined the Houston Healthcare team as Chief Medical Officer in June 2011. Dr. Sohnen was a practicing Obstetrician and Gynecologist for 32 years, delivering more than 8,000 babies.  

In addition to his practice, Dr. Sohnen served as the Residency Program Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Director of Women’s Services at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. He was also the Assistant Dean for Clinical Medical Education for the Mercer University School of Medicine, and served as the Department Chair and Medical Director of Programs.

Dr. Sohnen completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at Adelphi University in 1975, and attended medical school at the University of Rochester, New York. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baystate Medical Center of Tufts Medical School and received his Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1985.
