Houston Medical Center Auxilians Make Donation to the Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic
The Houston Medical Center Auxiliary has made a $15,000 donation to the Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic. The Clinic serves the working uninsured and underinsured residents of Houston County, offering primary, non-emergency, medical care on an appointment basis.
“The Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic is a very worthy cause,” states Melissa Turrell, Director of Administrative/Volunteer Services for Houston Healthcare. “The Auxilians at Houston Medical Center are pleased we are able to make a contribution of this size. The Clinic continues to be an asset to our community, and we want to support it any way we can.”
Since 2004, members of the Houston Medical Center Auxiliary have donated $125,000 to the Volunteer Medical Clinic. The Auxiliary raises money throughout the year through book sales, jewelry sales and with the sale of items in the Gift Connection, the gift shop located in Houston Medical Center. Often, a large part of the money raised is given back to Houston Medical Center to help fund various projects and initiatives for the hospital.
