The Behavioral Science and Psychiatry Department of Houston Medical Center offers innovative therapy in the treatment of mental, emotional and addictive disorders and their physical effects upon the patient. We specialize in the confidential treatment of adults with psychiatric, emotional and substance abuse disorders. Our professional staff of psychiatrists, nurses, clinical assistants, licensed counselors, therapeutic recreation specialists and technicians provide round-the-clock care in an attractive, comfortable setting.

Houston Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Inpatient Unit program is designed specifically to meet the needs of adult psychiatric patients as well as substance abuse patients. Under the medical direction of a psychiatrist, the staff provides medical care and individually tailored patient therapy from the time of admission to aftercare. Detoxification services are available to substance abuse patients. Support groups and educational programs are available for the patient's family as well.
