Treatments for Ovarian Cancer

The goal of treatment is to eliminate all cancer from your body. If that is not possible, treatment aims to extend your comfort by removing or killing as much cancer as possible. The treatment and management of ovarian cancer may involve simple or radical surgery, radiation , chemotherapy , or any combination of the above.

The physical effects from your cancer and its treatment will determine what lifestyle changes you need to make. Some effects will be temporary, but some may be permanent. You should talk to your doctor at every stage of treatment to find out how best to manage the effects of your tumor and treatment.
