Lifestyle Changes to Manage Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma

There are no specific lifestyle changes to manage non-Hodgkins lymphoma. However, the following tips may help you manage side effects of treatment:

  • Balance rest and activities. You will likely have less energy than usual. However, participating in exercise as tolerated will help you to maintain a positive outlook and may also help you to tolerate your treatment better.
  • Avoid exposure to bacteria and viruses. Treatment for lymphoma may reduce your ability to fight off infection.
  • Eat a healthy diet as tolerated.

Support from family and friends is also important at this time. Some patients find it helpful to discuss concerns with people facing similar challenges. The American Cancer Society can refer you to support groups in your area.
