Reducing Your Risk of Hyperthyroidism

There is no way to prevent hyperthyroidism in the case of Graves disease and most other causes. Quitting smoking may lower your risk of hyperthyroidism. Taking too much thyroid hormone replacement can also result in hyperthyroidism. So, be sure to take the dose prescribed by your doctor and get blood tests done regularly.
